On the 29th of August 2019, the IASLC will hold a one-hour webinar entitled ‘Women and Lung Cancer: Screening, Treatment and Beyond.’

It will include three presentations. The Global Burden of Lung Cancer in Women, what do we know? will be given by Mary Pasquinelli, the Director of the Lung Cancer screening program at The University of Illinois Health and Science System.
Lung Screening for Women- Susceptibility and Cure Rates will by delivered by Claudia I. Henschke, Director of the Early Lung and Cardiac programme at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York.
Moreover, Treatment of Lung Cancer: Does Gender Matter? will be given by Andrea S. Wolf, Director of the New York Mesothelioma Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York.
This webinar coincides with recent analysis that shows that the curative benefit of Lung Cancer screening is significantly better in women.
It has also recently been found out that CT screening and comprehensive tobacco cessation is especially remarkable in improving the health of tobacco exposed women.
The future of Lung Cancer screening and research will also be discussed.
